In the Aldo Leopold book 'A Sand County Almanac' there is a description of the
sky dance of the wood cock or 'timberdoodle'. The stylized wood cock form on the
right was created as a reminder of the Leopold family's tradition of enjoying the
sky dance of the timberdoodle each year.
