Wine Cellar Door

The evolution process behind this custom piece was fascinating as Steve worked with Dutch Made Custom Cabinetry who commissioned this piece for a private residence in Indiana. The total project took 143 hours to complete and the finished product was a pleasure to both Badger Village Blacksmithing and the customer!

The lockset used on this door was a series 9500 from Accurate Lock and Hardware Company. With a few slight modifications this lockset proved to be the best "off the shelf " solution for this project. There is only 1" of space between the face of this cabinet and the wine rack. A standard mortise lockset could not be used due to the depth of the tumbler. The 9500 from Accurate proved to be a great solution to this design challenge and Steve added his artistic touch to draw the lockset into the final design of the door.
