Aldo Leopold Legacy Center
Door Hardware, Part 2

Part 1- Forging support posts, backplates, and handles.

Following is a series of photos that show the completion of the door hardware created for the Leopold Legacy Center in Baraboo, WI.

The design for the hardware emerged from research into understanding the legacy of Aldo Leopold and the 'Land Ethic'. The hardware produced consists of both pulls and pushplates.

It would be well worth your time to find more information on the Leopold Legacy Center and its ongoing work at www.aldoleopold.org.

The project called for 14 pushplates, 12 of which are mounted on the opposited sides of the doors that the pulls are mounted to. Each of the 14 pushplates has a unique design that reflects the everchanging diversity that we find in the world around us. Following are a selection of some of the pushplate designs. Each linked photo has a breif description of the background of the designs shown.
